- Authored several books. Titles include: Boy Oh Boy – how to raise and educate a son. The four books that make up the Learning Leadership series. The two books that make up Duty of Care – A Certificate Course in Residential Education, which is the main training course used by boarding staff in Australia and New Zealand. The educational novel Blizzard Lines.
- Written over a hundred papers on a variety of topics related to education for professional journals and the broader media.
- Frequent speaker at educational conferences around the world. Eg, Keynote Speaker at the Head’s Conference of Great Britain (HMC) in Dublin, 2003.
- Advisor to Government. Member of the National Safe Schools Framework Roundtable. November, 2002. Member of the Advisory Committee on Boys’ Education, 2003.
- Winner of an Australian Government National Award for Quality Schooling – Excellence as a Headmaster, 2007.
- Frequent guest on radio and TV including Richard Glover’s Political Forum on Drive Time, ABC 702, and Channel 7’s Sunrise program.
- 2007- Present. Founding Chairman of the Australian Boarding Schools’ Association.
- 2010 – 2011. Chairman of the Headmaster’s Conference of New South Wales, and Executive Member of the Association of Heads of Independent Schools of Australia (NSW/ACT Branch).
- 2011-Present. Elected on to the National Executive of the Association of Heads of Independent Schools.
- Patron, President and Chairman of several charities including the Forsight Foundation and the World War Two Under 16s.
